Amongst all the chaos of moving, I boarded a plane this afternoon to Oahu for work. I return on Wednesday night. Very short trip, not enough time to see much of anything and I'm here for work, without my travel buddy. He is at home being a wonderful husband packing up the rest of the house and garage.
I first flew into LAX and then boarded a 757 for Honolulu Airport. Huge airport.... I got my exercise walking through several hallways, across one outside bridge, down the escalators to the baggage claim. Then outside to the humidity to catch the rental shuttle to get my car. I was interested to see how my hair was going to handle the humidity in preparation for Mississippi. It is a bit frizzy so we'll see how tomorrow goes. And guess what??? Red Convertible Mustang baby!! Woohoo! Not that I know how to make the convertible top go down or anything, but it drives very nicely. And I made it to my hotel without getting lost - in the dark!
The flight was interesting. I was in the window seat. A gentleman was in the middle seat and he slept through the entire flight. Snoring and leaning on my shoulder most of the way. Made me feel like home since my loving, adorable husband snores too. The lady in the aisle seat in our section was laughing very out loud with her headphones in watching Jay Leno on the TV. To the point it made me jump. :-) I was minding my own business trying to read Eat Pray Love and not think about being thirsty or hungry because they ran out of sandwiches and salads before making it to row 35! But that didn't matter much anyway since my newfound middle seat friend needed my shoulder to sleep on anyway, so I would not have been able to get up and use the lady's room had I drank much soda or water anyway.
Needless to say, I was starving by the time I got to the hotel only to find out that they do not have room service. And I'm staying in a really nice hotel, Ala Moana , but they did have a Chinese restaurant still open for take out on the 3rd floor. So I'm sitting in my room eating fried rice and pork looking out the window on the 20th floor about to unpack the camera so I can take some pictures.
Tomorrow night I'm spending some time with Carla from our Oahu office. I'm really looking forward to meeting her in person and her family. She has twins, her son is autistic. Our company services autistic children and adults in California and Hawaii.
I will post the pics as soon as I figure out how...which means probably when I get home and have my genious technologically savvy husband do it.

Enjoying a quiet moment
We have been home from church for a bit now, realizing how real the moment of moving
really is becoming. Shaking hnads and saying what could be our last good byes to everyone.
This journey will be so exciting, it will be a growing and learning process on the fly :-)
Michele will have the computer and myself will be using my mobile phone to do all of
my posting, pics and videos. There will be some humps to get over while on the road trying to post so bear with us. We hope to stay and keep in touch with all and hope to see even some of you on trips and vacations.
Now, we're sitting here like the calm before the storm. Shaun at practice and Jeff working in Rocklin and Amanda in Utah, it's quiet :-) We do know that it will become fast and furious
in the days to come, nothing will seem like normal and everything will be chaotic :-)
I was thinking of giving myself a call sign of sort, something like. . . "Big Red and White Ghost" the ghost being Max and Big Red being the truck :-) anyway just a random thought to get into the theme of things. Michele could be called " Little Grey" again, just some random thoughts for the mode of things :-)
All I can say is . . . Look Out People HERE WE COME!

Last day at Hidden Lake Ward
Well, it's time for us to stop playing on the new blog and get ready for church. This will be our last time at Hidden Lake Ward. We plan to attend Tracy Ward with family next week and then we'll be going to church "on the road" the next few weeks.
Hidden Lake Ward has been good to us, just like the Tracy Ward where Michael was baptized. During our time at Hidden Lake Ward, we were sealed together in the temple and Jeff went on his mission. It's been wonderful getting to know the members of Hidden Lake. We have made some lifelong friends and we will truly miss so many of you!
During our time in this ward, Michael has been in Primary for almost the entire time with the largest group of boys as they have grown into Young Men. He now serves with them in the YM as Deacons. He will truly miss those boys! I enjoyed time as the YW Secretary and was able to attend Girls Camp one year, best experience ever! And I've spent the last 6 months as the Nursery Leader which by far was one of the most amazing callings I have had. Those little ones are beautiful spirits. We are excited to find out what our new callings to serve will be once we settle into our Olive Branch, Mississippi Ward.

Our basic plan
Michael and I have decided to drive both of our vehicles to Mississippi and to take seperate routes. It was my idea at first because I want to stay behind an extra week and watch our son Shaun play baseball and make sure he gets to Utah ok. So I will be taking the northern route to Mississippi and Michael (and Max) will be taking the southern route. After creating the blog and talking about the different family members and friends that each of us will be able to see in taking these seperate routes, he's just as excited about it now as I am. :-) He leaves August 1st, I will leave August 8th or 9th. First stop for me - Utah. First stop for him - Fresno (only an hour and a half away) :-)
I get to see our daughter Amanda and our grandson Adrian first and I'm really excited about that. The three of us are going to Lava Hot Springs for a few days. I also get to see my Mom's grave. She was buried in Riverton, Utah. Then I'm going to spend some time with a childhood best friend, Jenn, drive to Copperton to see friends, visit 2 Grandmas and lots of Aunts and Uncles and Cousins. I can't wait! It will take me some time to get out of Utah and my next stop will be Colorado to see another childhood friend, Debbie. Then I plan to go through Omaha, NE and visit my new friend Jennifer and possibly see Shannon while she is there for her daughter's wedding. Jennifer will show me some sights that our son Jeff talked about from his mission since he served in the Omaha, Nebraska mission. After Omaha, it will be on to Mississippi unless I can find some other trouble to get into. :-)
Michael gets to see our other 2 children that live with their mother, Nathaniel and Tyfannie. He also gets to see Aunt Pat, Uncle Gregory and as many other family members as he can find at home in those few days in Fresno. Hopefully, he will get to see his cousin Brian and maybe get lucky and convice him to come along for the ride. Michael will then head to Bakersfield to see his best friend Ed and his wife Tisha and then on south to see one of his favorite cousins, Anissa and hopefully some Aunts and Uncles as well. It'll take him some time to get out of California and his next stop will be Arizona. He plans to see my Matthews grandparents and an Aunt and Uncle of mine and if he's lucky, he'll meet up with some family members from Phoenix that he hasn't seen in years. After Arizona, he'll probably make his way directly to Mississippi and enjoy the sights along the way. I'm sure Max will be tired of the road trip by that time and need to stretch his legs. :-)
